Supreme Category Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil with rich flavor. Result of totally controlled cultivation. With acidity lower than 0.3 is suitable for cooking or salads.
1930 : Protogerakis Evangelos, creates the family’s first olive oil factory, in the small, traditional village of Kamares, where he was born. Dedicated to the production of supreme category extra virgin olive oil, he had upgraded his unit several times through years and had adopted all the known innovations in the production of olive oil.
1973 : The company started further expansion and development. 1973 The factory is transported to the region Voroi of Heraklion, close to the ancient city of Phaestos, in a new rejuvenating building unit and it is also equipped with the best machinery known so far.
1989 : The business adopts the latest technology in equipment with the supply of a centrifugal machinery and creates new storage facilities.
1995 : Further modernization of the company, with a semiautomatic unit of standardization.
1998 : Radical change of the production unit.
2005 : New pioneering, fully modernization of the company, made by investments of Vangelis and Michael Protogerakis, grandsons of the company’s founder.
Today the company possesses rejuvenating olive press, super modern storage facilities along with a fully automated bottling unit, all of them placed in a totally upgraded building unit. In addition, “Protogerakis Emm. Sons” company produces supreme category extra virgin olive oil under the sum of national standards of production and food standardization.
With a strong dedication to perfection, “Protogerakis Emm. Sons” company approve by its certifications and awards that the trade and standardization of olive oil is passion for it. “Protogerakis Emm. Sons” company has won the 3rd place in the 2nd National Contest of Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2007, held under the support of the Greek Ministry of Growth. The company has represented Greece, after a request of the Greek Ministry of Growth, in the International Meeting Expoliva, taking place in Spain from the 15th until the 19th of May 2007. “Protogerakis Emm. Sons” company works under the Food Quality Management System H.A.C.C.P. certified by the national organization ELOT 1416: 2000 (HACCP). It has been certified by the institute “Bio Hellas” for biologically milling and standardization of olive oil treated procedures. It is also certified for the Greek origin of its product under the code EL. – 40 – 067.
